Appearances and Goals 2009/2010
Pavlyuchenko made 12 appearances and has scored 9 so far
Crouch made 32 appearances and has scored 10 so far.
I know Crouch brings a different play to the game, but in terms of goals and taking chances its quite obvious Pavlyuchenko is better.
I think its crazy, I never thought come January that Pavlyuchenko would be on 9 goals come March, I think he could easily go for 15/18 by the end of the season (overall).

In my opinion, Crouch can be a great option off the bench. Pav and Defoe be the main strikers and Crouch be a change of pace and style if needed. Like other people have said, its a great problem to have.....
that final number is a bit too high for me. Pav is on fire and not doubt about it. and i firmly believe that 'Arry was taking the piss when he wasn't playing him. however Pav will get more goals but you can't expect him to keep up this torrid pace at which he is scoring right now. although if he does expect us to finish 4th for sure maybe even 3rd. =)
obviously pav has proved his point and in style, he is a true striker he is tottenhams true number 9. just hope harry doesnt drop him if he dont score for a couple of weeks cant expect his goal scoring to carry on at this rate.
Wasnt really a Pav fan since he got to the club, though he was another Rebrov waiting to happen and i was right.............until January
Crouch on the other hand , never rated him , never will . He's a lanky streak of piss which cant header and some how manages to get his legs tangled to sometimes score.
Although every time i slate JJ he scores next match so watch out for crouchy next match, off to the bookies i go.
ya his goal scoring rate is very very good.
It can continue imo! Doesnt have to stop!
Just look at rooney he is scoring doubles like game in and out!
Defoe is also scoring almost every game.
If pav can keep on doing that as he has been doing in the past games then we will have two of the best 2 strikers in the premier league for sure.
Super Tottenham! The Football World Is OURS!
Here's the goalscoring stats for all Spurs players during season 2009-10...
... Roman Pavlyuchenko has the best strike rate of any Spurs player this season, with a goal scored on average for every 71 minutes played.
I was wishing him to score a hat-trick yesterday as that would have been all first team strikers to have got one. Probably a Prem first for 4 seperate players to get one in a season.
There is still time Pava cumon.
I just hope that anyone who has doubted the mans (Pav) ability and attitude must now realise he is a class striker and support him from now on. He cant do anymore to prove himself atm fgsake.

I too prefer Pavlyuchenko over Crouch. We dont play the predictable, boring long ball as much when Crouch is on the bench.

Well this thread might be academic after the Stoke game. Pav was injured and it was left to Eidur to take the plaudits....Crouch drifted in and out of the game.
Peter Crouch was instrumental in countering the threat from Stoke's long throws and he won almost everything that came his way in the air.
Crouch's beautifully weighted chip-through for Eidur Gudjohnsen's goal was his seventh credited assist in the League (just two behind Aaron Lennon, who has the most for the club this season).
I'll admit I was never one of Crouch's biggest fans before he joined us in the summer and I thought it was very questionable to swap Darren Bent for him, but watching him play this season I can understand that he brings an extra dimension to Spurs (and to England).
Quite like Crouchy as a player, but agree that I don't think his striking style suits our game atm. Pav is a born finisher and there's room for one of them in a spurs side.
On the other hand, Eidur's style has taken to our game like a duck to water. Really think he'll be a class player for us if we get him signed up in the summer. I used to hate him when he played for Chelsea, cos he was a right pain in the arse, always seemed to cause us problems.
Tbh, i'd be much happier if we flogged crouch in the summer. Carew is far, far superior to crouch in every department
