I dobt know if this has been discussed but , Is it me or are more and more players getting injured these days?
Theres hardly a week goes by without some players picking up a foot injury either broken metatarsals or ankles or similar.
Recently Cashley and now Brown of Man U have had this type of injury from innocuous challenges.
I think its the flimsy boots they wear nowadays which dont offer enough protection .
What do you think?
if the boot you're wearing is measured in tens of grams you can hardly expect it to offer any real support or protection to your foot! Those things have been traded for performance and that comes at a cost.

Agreed but the cost can mean a player out for three months at least which means he misses vital games such as a cup final or even a WC.
Tackling is a past art that teams such as Arsenal dont practice anymore.
The powers that be would love ther to be no tackling but as soon as that happens football will die.
Reintroduce tackling from behind and the side and make referees alot better.......or this doesnt sit prety with me introduce video refs for contentious decisions.
Ifeel dirty now and need to wash...........anyone wanna scrub my back![]()

Now they were my first football boots and did you get injuries to your feet when the nails, holding in the studs, came through to the inside.
Joking aside, there are far too many serious injuries due to the flimsiness of the modern boot.
It seems the manufacturers are more interested in fashion and style rather than a player's career.

The manufacturers make what people want. People want speed, touch, and power. There are options that offer a lot of protection and nobody buys them. Concave PT1 FG - Reviews - ESPN Soccernet
