      Lyon 0
      Girondins 1!

What a result! Bordeaux absolutely walked all over Lyon. A few weeks back I thought Girondins had blown their title challenge but now its really shaping up! I have to admit that Chamakh is really looking sharp at the moment. Spurs were linked with him but his goalscoring record gave reservations but, in the absence of Cav, he's really stepped up to the mark & altho he did not score this time he really took the game to Lyon, especially in the 2nd half when he was superb. Gouffran too was very good, despite still not having actually scored. It was the more unlikely of goalscorers that broke the deadlock this time around, ex-Charlton midfielder Alou Diarra, altho huge credit has to go to Wendel whose awesome shot from the edge of the box crashed back off the post, landing neatly at Diarra's feet for him to tuck away. That goal had really been coming tho & was deserved. Lyon started the game the better team but really after 20min it was all Bordeaux.

I am really pleased for them. The thing is, if Girondins continue in this form there is no way Spurs will land either Chamakh or Cava as Bordeaux will be up there challenging for titles & back in the CL. So, they better actually take that top spot off of Marseille & win the title this year, it would be bl**dy great if they could! Unbelievable result, well done boys!

Where are Lyon now? Well behind in 3rd place! You wouldn't have seen that coming a few weeks back where it looked like they were running away with the league!

What do you think of Lyon's Jean Makoun? IMO he reminds me a real lot of Essien, as he's that type of tough midfielder, and seems quite tough to play against.

Makoun is a very good midfielder, We were linked with him when Jol was still at the club. He didn't have a great game this time tho. He was overpowered by the Bordeaux midfield who were very good, possibly the best they've played as a unit this season.
