I read today that the ASHES will be returning to terestial tv . The showpiece cricket test will become a legally protected "crown jewel" under plans being sent to ministers . Former FA executive David Davies is compiling a list of sports fixtures that must be protected . A senior government source has confirmed that the ASHES will be on the list .
Now the fact that David Davies was an executive on the FA might just put the football in there too and we will have no more of this internet nonsense . We can all hope
yeah we can hope, but unfortunately David Davies was thought of as a bit of a prat by the current hierarchy at the FA, so may go nowhere
I found the link for it

YAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWNNNNN!!!!
Not a real sport is it.
You wouldn't want to say that to Merv Hughes . Its a civilised game at this level , plus the sledging is priceless sometimes
Ten Most “Hilarious” Sledging incidents in World Cricket « My Sports Blog
I went to the Oval once (Surrey CC 20/20 game) and it was full of toffs. Their interpretation of fun is to stack beer cups. That's why I love WHL because nothing beats singing in the Shelf Side...altogether now (hymn 1882), "We're shelf side, we're shelf side, we shelf side Tottenham..."
I was at the last test match , and at least i can say i was at the 2009 ashes when we won it . Merv Hughes was there as was nearly all of the Australians past legends , my mate went for a quick chat with Merv and afterwards he shook his hand - as he put his hand forward i winced - my mate said "i might as well put my hand in a vice , he's f*ckin totally crushed it" . i said "fancy shaking that nutters hand - i would rather put my genitals in a beez nest" !!!
