What the hell!?!?!?
I monitor the baseball rumors, nobody saw this coming. 10 years - $250m
St. Louis Cardinals' Albert Pujols will join Los Angeles Angels - ESPN Los Angeles
.... And they signed C.J. Wilson.
Los Angeles Angels add Texas Rangers' C.J. Wilson with 5-year, $77.5M deal - ESPN
It really makes me hate Frank McCourt even more. We're signing guys like Jerry Hairston Jr. and Chris Capuano and the Angels are baggin' Pujols!

I was shocked to see he went to the Angels. I'm glad he's out of the NL Central though. Cardinals are probably better off without him though, he is a great player but they can't be putting that much money in one player (who may be declining).

Didn't think he was going to the Angels either what a surprise.
Leader of the Spurtles.
Just last night everyone was saying he was headed for the Marlins?

Must have been the AL factor that swayed him. If you look at the clubs offering him ridiculous money Cardinals, Cubs and the Marlins all of those are NL teams. I'd say Pujols probably would have 5 years playing at this level in the NL, moving to the AL just added another 2 years of reasonably high performance on his career. If you're the Angels you just have to eat the back end of his contract, that's the cost of bringing him in. Though I'll say he's going to be huge in LA, especially with the Hispanic community. So what would seem like money lost in compensation might be covered in commercial revenue and merchandise sales.
Somebody needs to buy the Dodgers quickly so we can get Prince. Not likely, the first round of bidding isn't until around January. I saw some comments from Boras though that suggest the Dodgers would be his choice if possible.

Wow. Baseball is being controlled by the Miami Marlins (absolutely hate the jerseys)
And the LA Angels.
Jesus Christ. Oh, by the way, still can't beat the Rockies! Hands off CarGo and Tulo!
Seems like a tough contract to be saddled with but they have the rotation and some nice offensive pieces to challenge for the the title. One World Series and who cares how much they spent on Pujols.
