Our under 18s can clinch their divisional title of the premier academy league at the lane on Wednesday.

The lads' excellent 4-0 victory against West Ham on Saturday has left them needing one win from two remaining games to secure the PAL Group B title.

The first of those two games is against Watford on the main stage at the Lane on Wednesday night, May 6, kicking-off at 7pm.

Victory will mean a first PAL divisional title since the Under-17s won their group in 2002 and will book a place in the end-of-season national PAL finals against three other group winners.

However, coach Alex Inglethorpe warned that Watford will provide tough opposition on Wednesday night. "They beat Chelsea on Saturday and they will be determined to come here and spoil the party," he said.

Alex was delighted with the win against West Ham.

The lads were on control throughout but had to wait until the 50th minute to open the scoring - three more followed.

"It was a great performance, especially in the second half," Alex reported. "You could see that the players were getting a little edgy towards the end of the first half but it was a case of staying calm.

"We made a slight tactical change at half-time that helped us to bring the ball out (from defence) easier and that meant we got on the ball more.

"From there, it was a case of continuing as we were and staying patient.

"The first goal came from a corner, a great delivery from Ryan Mason and Nathan Byrne had the final touch.

"We were soon 2-0 up when Dean Parrett lost his marker and sent Ryan clear and he clipped it over the goalkeeper.

"The third goal was after 67 minutes and from another corner, this time Steven Caulker got in a header, the keeper saved it but Harry Kane was there to slot home.

"The fourth goal was the best, good play from Ryan Fredericks ended with Nathan hitting a low shot home from the edge of the box."

Spurs U18s: Jansson, Smith, Cox, Parrett, Caulker, Butcher, Byrne, Ekim (Nicholson, 46), Kane, Mason (Fredericks, 80), Kasim (Carroll, 75).
