Okay so was it just me or did anyone else get confused at the thought of watching olympic diving competition in the middle of the Spurs v. Sunderland game? I thought there was supposed to be some rule about giving out yellow cards to people who dived with attempt to manipulate the match official? I can remember at least 3 instances where Sunderland were diving about trying to draw extra PK's (like 3 wasn't enough) in the game. Campbell was two of them and i can't remember exactly whom the other person was for Sunderland.
How are you going to take diving out of the game if the officials will never give out yellows to people who dive? i know there are times when there is a good challenge on the ball and people will fall. however when watching the game i was instantly seeing how the divers were met with just a "get up" type of motion. Divers will always ruin any sport and once again it seems FIFA and the FA are all talk with no action to try and get diving out of the sport.
Campbell was shameless. while I didn't have a major complaint about the PKs awarded, and Sunderland certainly deserved to win the match, I don't want to hear anything about Sunderland being one of those "honest, hard-nosed" teams anymore.
Although, as Brum points out in her thread, we can point to Kyle walker as a diver too.

Have to agree with jm on that one and yeah there were dives in this match but that still won't change the fact that they were standing a whole lot better than we were. Penalties or not they still would of defeated us regardless IMO.
The best thing they could do is probably get another ref on the field and each look out on their own side of the pitch but of course probably won't happen. Of course I get pissed off when it's an obvious dive but there is not a football team in the world who is not guilty of it.
