im so pi55ed off after sundays typical catastrophie that i fell there is a need to get focussed again for the visit of wolves in 6 days time

i think we should stick with the same team, apart from robbie keane as i think we need to get the ball on the deck and play some football, although JD was a very, very, very silly boy to try and blast a ball down the middle in the 94th minute of a game where it is 2-2 and we need a winner, he is still the best english striker around (but not the best penalty taker) he has 13 league goals already so we need to back him and he will score goals

TEAM: GOMES, CORLUKA, DAWSON, KING??, ASSOU-EKOTTO, LENNON, HUDDLESTONE, JENAS, KRANJCAR, DEFOE, KEANE (C)

SUBS: WALKER, BASSONG, BALE, BENTLEY, GDS, PAVLYUCHENKO, CROUCH

Agreed crouch should always be a impact sub, but I dont really rate Keane so I think we need another option in the Jan transfer window if im honest.

But I would stick with the same team but for the LOVE OF GOD DO NOT BRING BALE ON HARRY!

      Tottenham 3 - Wolves 1.

Erm . My first thoughts are that Gomes got beat by 2 shots from outside the box by Gibson in the CC , i was there and he hit them sweet . My second thoughts are that the boy Nenad Milijas might just do the same if we don't stop the fooker .

We need to stop players running into shooting opportunities in front of goal , even if they're outside the box .

My predictions - after the poor performance against Everton and a second string Man Utd team - the team may want to prove themselves to the fans at home. Luck may be on our side this time...my predictions (you read this first)...4-0, hat-trick, Defoe

This thread is salvation. Need to get this last game out of my head. Though I have been one of the stronger Crouch advocates I realize that he might be better served coming off the bench (though i still think he can be a valuable member of the England squad). If King could somehow be healthy for this game I think it would make a significant difference. It would also be nice if Modric could play a half. The squad for me goes something like:

      ---------Gomes---------
      -Charlie-King-Dawson-BAE
      -Lennon-Pal-Hudd-Krank-
      ------Defoe------Keane

      Alnwick
      Crouch
      Pav
      Bale
      Naughton
      Bentley
      Jenas

Defoe will be big in this match. He wont miss the chances he had against Everton again. I'm going with 4-0 with a double from Defoe and goals from Keane and Huddlestone. I think this might be a game where Wolves have some chances but are denied by some great saves from Gomes. I think his performance this season has been overlooked. For me Gomes has been stellar and has kept us in a lot of matches we may well have lost. One question: does Naughton have any value on the left side? THis is just a thought but the combined performance of Bale and BAE last week make me wonder if someone else could plug in on the left. If Naughton could I would really like to see him on the field....Give the kid a run.

A point will most prob cheer some 'optimistic' fans but for me nothing less than a battering will do or 3 points at a minimum.

Wolves are utter tripe home and especialy away so i see a hat full for us, who to partner Defoe i just dont know any more the other three options all seem to be fluffing their lines so in Harry i trust for that one.

What we dont need is JJ or Bale to be any where near the pitch, utterly useless the pair of them.

      Big win please Spurs 4-1

Yeah we badly miss Modders inspiration, oh how we needed him at the Hemeroids stadium last month!
Dunno what his update is but hes taken longer to recover unfortunetly but at least we have the Hudd to fall back on................................................

i may be too optimistic here but i will not settle for anything less than a complete wigan style smashing of this second rate wolves team!

ok we wont score nine but i want at least 4 at the very minimum and a clean sheet into the bargain!
Oh - you want me to watch my mouth, how?

I am wetting my pants at the prospect of seeing another wigan style smashing, I hope we do destroy wolves and their gromit manager.

Not really anyone that is a goal threat in my mind on their roster. Ebanks-Blake maybe? Is he even fit?

lads i'd take a 1-0 scrappy own goal in the 99th minute if i had to, as long as we get 3 points on the board!!!

seroiusouly, if we dont win sky sports will come up with their famous "haven't won since that memorable 9-1 victory over wigan"

i think it will be 2-0 with thudd and lennon getting the goals

Good opportunity for not only three points but a goal difference boosting win. Whilst it's all about the points goal difference may end up being important so 'Arry must go all out attack. I think Modric may get a start, it's better to start unfit players, when they can warm up fully, than bring them off the bench cold. He may only play 45 mins but that would be great.

Who do we drop? For me Palacios firstly because he has bruised ribs, but also because Kranjcar should play deeper on the left side to support BAE (didn't do this at Everton) Hudd in the middle with Lennon and Modric providing width. Although not our strongest defensive line up should be OK for this game.

Up front I would still go with Defoe and Crouchy they created over twenty scoring opportunities last week how is that not good? Robbie could come on at some point, needs pitch time.

The defense can be any two fit CB's they are all good, with Corluka and BAE. BAE he has been OK for most of this season and this should be a game where he is under little pressure. Despite the anti-Bale stuff on the forum this week perhaps another 45 mins might do him good ...... depends on the score but I would like to see him play the second half.

Expect a good performance >3 and I hope a confidence boosting clean sheet.

One other point Tommy and JJ are both on four yellow cards, seeing as the 'five cards one match ban' rule applies until the end of Feb suspensions are likely, just something else to think about.
