I'd agree with that spursman. Would be good to see Pienaar back. I wonder if Pav will try to put himself in the shop window playing a Russian club.
Don't think Defoe will play. Townsend at RM and GDS and Pav up top.
You know Rubin Kazan are not a bad team , we should not underestimate them by putting out too weak a team , playing Pav is a waste of a shirt .

Clive Allen was just talking about this game on ESPN. Nothing much though, just that we will playing a few youngsters, as you'd expect. Having said that, as Rev points out, Kazan will give us a game. Didn't they beat Barca twice in recent years?
I love this Europa league man, that extra Spurs game really makes my Thursday nights, and its great watching the young'ens get a game. Looking forward to this but agree with the Rev, its actually a difficult one!
Yeah, we'd be silly to play any of those ahead of a trip to Ewood Park. I suppose you could say the same about Defoe, to an extent... But then without him there aren't many goals in the side. If GDS does play forward though, maybe he'll get back on it.
This will be by far the best European team we've played this season. Obafemi Martins and Haedo Valdez are going to be a huge threat up front, Carlos Eduardo was almost called up to Brazil's WC squad, and they've got a solid defense. It'll be a close game which is actually bad, means Walker and Kaboul (if they play) will have to do a lot of work, not good. Should be a good game, would like to see this, depending on fitness levels.

We will make it through to the knock out stages bar a fantastically bad run of results so there is no reason to bring out the big guns. Losing to Kazan wouldn't be a big issues for the campaign as they are a solid side and one loss to them isn't an embarrassment.

If we lose to them at home then we will lose to them away , we should at least try to win this one .
