on 06.02.10 we have to play Aston Villa at home!
Since last time we were playing them apart in the second half but only managed a 1-1 away, I am hoping for a win at home now.
I think we even have to win this one if we are still going for the 4th place which we hopefully are!
I think the leeds game will give us a boost and we will win this one.
There will be 3 keys for the game.
The first key for this match will be to shut down ashley young on the wing.
Corluka managed to do it 2 times in a row now. First time zokora tried vs ashley young and stood no chance and then corluka went in aafter 30 minutes and shut him down for the whole match. He was also really quiet in the last game we played vs villa thanks for corluka.
Ashley young is a great player so the question is, is it even possible to shut him down a 3rd time?
Does anyone know where ashley young is playing now? Since downing is lately in their starting lineup. Isn't downing a pure left midfielder? Wouldn't that mean that ashley young will have to go on the right wing? Meaning he would face bale on the right wing. As far as I know ashley young has no problems to play both positions since he is not only a left footer but also a right footer. Or is ashley young still playing left wing and downing just went on the right wing?
The second key will be to shut down Agbonlahor.
He is very quick and dangerous in front of the goal. I could cause dawson and bassong some problems. Lets hope both can shut him down.
BUT maybe king will be fit for this one and put agbonlahor into his pocket.
The third key will be the midfield with milner.
He is a great player too bad we never tried to sign him! Him petrov have a good partnership in the midfield. So its up to palacios and huddlestone make them really quiet!
I think palacios and hudd can do that.

will have to wait till i'm off work on saturday to watch that so will be avoiding the forum from about 12:30 eastern till after 9:30. maybe even the whole night. Spurs do need to win this game though, need distance over Villa. Also could use the points to fight back Scousers and City.
Agreed on all counts - main threats are Young, Agbolahor and Milner. Should be a good game. We must win at all costs no draw, and certainly, no loss
i agree with thugz, but i have to say i don't see 2-0 spurs tbh. Im thinking maybe 1-0 spurs or 2-1 spurs, with villa scoring first
Bale's first proper test against a proper winger. Ashley Young will probably play on the right, with Milner in the centre and Downing on the left, and all 3 will probably alternate and switch positions all game, so both our full backs will have to be on their toes.

What a huge game this is. I have spent every minute since the Leeds match thinking about this fixture and what it means in the race for the top 4. It is vital to take 3 points from this match with it being at home. That said I really believe we can do it. I would love to see the following lineup, as I think Hudd could use a rest:

Although I know im crazy for thinking that Eidur will start. Just something I would like to see. Perhaps it makes us too offensive but Palacios has been in great form and could, IMO single-handedly boss the center of the midfield.
As far as a prediction this will definitely be a tough game but one that I think we will take 3 points form. I'm going to go 3-1 or 3-2, not sure how many chances Abonglahor is going to get. Milner could also get one. I think it will be Defoe, Modders, and Palacios to score for Spurs. Wilson shoots the ball often and usually pretty well. I just have a feeling that sooner or later one of these will find the back of the net.

No mate = we have all tried to second guess the boss = can you tell me one time we have it right ??? = Me neither = the best way to deal with that is wait til after the game and at least you know what your talkin about cos its happened !!!!
ya! But thats what we like about spurs(or not) cuz u never know how they will turn up!!!! But so far I have never been really unhappy about the way we played even when we lost I thought we mostly played good or at least better than the opponnent but couldnt score apart from a few games like vs manchester in the carling cup or arsenal. I wanna see the guys fight and play the best they can and if then its not enough to win then so be it at least we tried out best.
Thats how I would like to see our team. This season I am really happy overall with the performance but some results could/should of been better(hull, stoke , wolves , birmingham) to name the most annoying ones.
Had no idea Spurs were playing Villa this weekend. Thats a huge game!
How do you know who's gonna be fit for a start . FFS stop it . We deal with the fact that players have played good or bad = if you want fantasy football buy a console FFS .
