"You score goals as a kid. Then you grow up stupid and become a goalkeeper."
hi and a massive warm welcome
enjoy your time here
How did you become a Spurs fan ingolfsson?
A question I love to ask all spurs fans![]()
I saw footage from the 1971 League Cup final v. Aston Villa in a local cinema! From that moment on I became a Spurs fan and Martin Chivers became my hero!In september that year, Spurs came to Iceland to play Keflavik(1-6) in the UEFA-cup.We had a great team in those days,Jennings,Knowles,Kinnear,Mullery,Perryman,Pet ers,Beal,Chivers and Gilzean to mention a few! Since then my sister and 2 of my brothers have followed in my footsteps and are true Spurs fans!My best friend is a lifetime fan and is actually going to the Portsmouth game on saturday.Wish I was going, but could not make it this time.Of course I am proud to see Eidur at Spurs, but it does'nt matter to me where players come from.Just as long that we are successful.- Spurs 4 ever! C.O.Y.S.!!!
Once a Spur-always a Spur!
Welcome to the Forum!
You're about the same age as me, so you must remember Tottenham's trip to Keflavik IF for their UEFA Cup match in 1971.
Spurs won 6-1 in Iceland with goals from Alan Mullery (2), Ralph Coates & Alan Gizean (3) followed by a 9-0 win at White Hart Lane with goals from Cyril Knowles, Ralph Coates, Steve Perryman, Martin Chivers (3), Phil Holder and Alan Gilzean (2).
That 15-1 scorline remains Spurs' highest aggregate win in European competition.
