I started a thread about him being in intensive care yesterday. Absolutely gutted, if you don't know much about Socrates, do you research and read some of the stuff he's written. He was a brilliant man on and off the pitch and he'll be missed, especially in Brazil. No joke, Brazilians hold that '82 losing side and it's players in higher regard then the '94 winning side.

A man who should be an inspiration to today's footballers.
Delayed his career to finish becoming a doctor.......!!!
Activist against tyranny and a dictatorship.......!!!
And an epicly good footballer.......!!!
Bit of a beer and fag monster and that killed him in the end.
But he lived for living.
Well in soc.

A sad day. One of the most complete midfielders to ever play the game.

One of the first players I actually remember watching play. Class player, hate to see him go.

Legend. One of the most elegant players to watch on the pitch, and part of what is probably the best side to ever play the game in that '82 Brazilian squad. Barca should take note from Socrates and 82 Brazil to learn how to play actual attractive football.

Lol @ the last comment about Barca, sigh. Really inappropriate.....
Anyway, R.I.P Socrates. He was before my time but i've heard great things about him and seen lots of clips, great player.

As I said in Blue Crew's thread I only knew him through my father's words of him. RIP.
