ok so i am aboot 4 months into my sketching in my note pad, when i get the odd 5 mins to myself that is lol

if you noticed, there is an 'ok' written next to some of the drawings, that is because my mate hiro's daughter, kotono marks them for me. she is funk on ace and drawing japanese animation characters, and she's only 9 years old! meh >.< does my head in, it takes here like 2 mintes to draw something like this...
now to me, there is no question as to whether that is a western animation character or a japanese animation character something that i am finding really hard to grasp.
to help with proportions...

i am liking the finish i can get using the pc, a lot more than the struggle with pencils. but i persist with both

cheers mate. still a long way to go though. the eyes and the fingers being the toughest part to crack, especially in pencil.

lol anime is a terrible form of Japanese art, especially when you keep on finding girls who "know my culture" because they like Manga, anime and Hello Kitty! and yes...its a sad but true fact. Just ask my previous 3 girlfriends.
Japanese art which SHOULD be known the most is Ukiyoe...but alas...
