I'm prepared to spend the dosh, but I simply don't know what to buy.
Basically I have a three year old Dell Vostro 200, Intel Pentium Duel Core CPU E2200, 2.20Ghz, 3GB Ram, 32-bit
HELP!!!!

If you're doing visual work then you will probably need at least 8 gigs of RAM (most professionals have way more - it just speeds up rendering times). The thing is, if you have a 32 bit OS then you can only utilise 4 gigs no matter how much you plug in, so you may need to upgrade your OS as well, depending on what you have at the moment.

8gb well that is heavy shit"didn't know the depth of your projects" I run my pc on 5gb. I would suggest probably to build a new computer all together or purchase one that meets those requirements. If they are as heavy as you say they are it might not only be ram and graphics card but mother board as well. But I am also still noobish so I would ask@yid4eva hes the guru I go to for advice.

It looks like your system is 32-bit, which will limit you to 4GB of RAM.
If you are serious about getting into high end graphic work start over. Throwing a fancy exhaust (the graphics card) won't turn your daily driver into a race car. If you really want performance, you'll be far better off with a new system with a stronger core (64 bit CPU, lots of ram) even if it means you have to spend a few less dollars on the graphics card.

NEW! Fabro i5 2400 - Intel PCs - Dino PC Ltd
I've been looking at this, I'm really tight on cash atm so 400 is about the maximum. It seems to have the right amount of spec needed.

you won't be able to do much graphics work with an inbuilt graphics card. It's a little while since i built my PC but if you wanna do proper graphics work then i'd say a 1GB maybe even 2GB graphics card is needed. Also if you want a decent graphics card then that PSU wont be much good either i wouldnt have thought.
Part of me realizes that it may be more cost effective to spend rather big on something that will last a fairly long time..
I simply don't have the time to build a pc, myself or a friend. If anything goes tits up, I don't have the time to sort it out..
What about this?

i wouldnt bother with alienware mate most of the time you're paying about 200 quid for the case and the computer itself could be bought much cheaper with a less fancy case and brand. The website you were on (dino PV) was actually quite good i got my PC from there and touch wood it seems to be working ok.
