Last night I had the fortune of sitting in the Nordkurve of Gelsenkirchen watching Raul give a masterclass as Schalke beat Bremen 5-0. It really was an absolute belting and could easily have been more. Jurado and the two fullbacks had top games also (Höwedes played fullback). The guys I went with were asking if I could move to Germany as their good luck charm![]()
Unfortunately I didn't get the opportunity to ask Klaas-Jan when he was coming to Tottenham ;P

My boy Jermaine Jones was involved, good result for Schalke. The Bundesliga is such good value, since most of the club sort of self-impose financial restraints on themselves the league is really competitive, well most of the time :P. 1st to 6th separated by 11 points and 1st to 3rd separated by 3 points. The PL is good this year but Bundesliga because of how the clubs operate is almost guaranteed great entertainment. For those of us in favor of financial restraints that's what having clubs closer together can do.
Side Note: What the heck is wrong with Klinsmann if he thinks Kyle Beckerman is a better option at DM then Jones.
Jones is obviously improving too. Schalke played a midfield diamond and had some really good transitions throughout the game. They looked really good in this game despite missing a few players, although I would argue they lost nothing by playing without Holtby. Will be interesting to see how they go against Mönchengladbach in the Pokal this week.
