Lahm had a terrible game. He was responsible for the goal. He gave the player (whose name escapes me atm) way too much space.
Anyways, little off-topic but what do you think of Timothy Chandler from Nurnberg @ThUgBeAtZ ?

Great signing for Schalke as fuchs is a very good left back in the bundesliga.

Him and alaba are a very strong left side for austria.
How strong they are was shown when they totally destroyed Thomas Müller and Philip Lahm in austria vs germany every attack went through fuchs and alaba.
Alaba won 11 duells out of 14 duells against philip lahm.
It was the first time that philip lahm lost so many direct duells in his career.
Fuchs was a great assist for alaba in that game.

Yeah Lahm was not good but Lahm gave an interview after the game saying that he didnt get any support which was needed because austria is so strong from that left side. Thomas Müller left him alone on that side and also there was no help from defensive midfielders to cover his side so he had no chance.
He said usually when schweinsteiger plays it works better because he covers the left side.
Löw said after the game that Müller didnt give enough help for Lahm in this game.
about Chandler
havent noticed him to much to be honest.
I heard his name a few times when watching tho
First season with Nürnberg perhaps?
Ill keep a closer look at him next season. and report
Ill try to make a play day report of the bundesliga every play day next season and post it in one topic to keep you guys updated with whats going on.

Yeah he's American so I obviously have a vested interest. He declined an invite to the Gold Cup because this is his first season in the Bundesliga and he wanted to focus on club footbal. Some said it's because he's hoping to get called up buy the German National team (Which he's still eligible) but he's said a few times he never wants to play for Germany.
I am struggling to understand why we spurs fans needed to know this piece of information?
We was not linked with him and as far as I know no real expression of desire amongst the people on here.
Klose to Spain maybe.
It's interesting to me...

I guessed it would be in this section (can't tell on iPhone) but I personally do not understand why some random transfers get discussed with no link to spurs & no impact.
Fabregas to Chelsea or City will have an impact same as Schneider to Man Utd or even one of our linked players moving elsewhere.
Like I said personal opinion on this.
Personal opinion I just wanted others views.
Yeah but If messi (or any other)would go to inter milan .... It would be discussed as well wouldnt it?
Even tho it has nothing to do with us and we were never linked with him.
Or If inter milan got a new manager or ac milan or whoever.
Thats why we have a section called " Discuss everything outside of spurs about other leagues"
Thats why we have sections like THFC Bar where we talk about off topics.
For example what happens in the world etc. Or if there are some funny videos around.

Your fine at @ThUgBeAtZ I appreciate the updates. Especially being a Dortmund fan because them improving isn't the best news for us.
Audere est Facere (07-06-2011)
What's your oppinion on the transfer politics of Dortmund? They didn't invest much money for new players.... I personally think that will strength the team spirit even more. If they buy someone who earns twice as much as the others everyone would want a salary raise.
its a good transfer politic but it was very risky as at the start they were not very succuessful with it but yet stuck with it and it almost paid off in the first season with the young players.
They had no choice tho
Because of 2 reasons. First they knew that a young team needs time to develop and 2. They had no money so they had no choice and invest in young players.
People were talking about dortmund getting relegated next season because players like
Frei,Valdez,Petric, left dortmund and older players like dede, kehl and owomoyela got long term injuries.
But then they bought players for cheap for example Barrios who scored 30 goals in 31 games in his league. Considered "Welttorjäger" Worldstopscorer.
The first half of the season when he played for dortmund he was considered as "Weltnixtorjäger"(World nothing top scorer) from all newspapers.
They were talking about barrios being a big flop for dortmund after 6 months there. Now nobody is saying that because he scored 16 goals this season and the season before 19.
Jürgen Klopp a manager who never managed to get promoted to the 1.bundesliga with his old club mainz 05 got dortmund really going and got the spirit back.
People were laughing at klopp at first because he never managed to promote mainz 05 into the 1.bundesliga after sooooo many years being there.
And when he left !!! the first year they managed to get promoted by some other coach.......
In dortmund everyone is a friend. They all spend a lot of time with each other thats the key.
Tho with now Sahin gone its kinda their heart and soul gone. They have some players who are able to play there but none of them will probably be able to replace him as good.
It will be a hard season for Dortmund next year with CL + Bundesliga at the same time. They didnt have that for a long time.
But I would still expect them to challenge for the Europa and CL places next season.
Tho I would not give them any chance on the Title.
The title will belong to bayern munich with ease imo. Now they bought the best goalkeeper in germany. They bought a very good right back and now Philip Lahm will go to his best position the left back.
And bayern is now after 1 more central back and if they get Jerome Boateng from Man city who is imo the best german central back germany has then they will be very good.
People talk about Kompany as the best defender this season in the premier league but believe me when Boateng is fit Kompany is nothing.
In Hamburg Kompany never got to play as first choice because Boateng was just way too good and Mathijsen was there as well central back of Holland.
In germany everyone consideres Boateng as the best central back in germany.
He can also play left or right back but central back is by far his best position. Its like Puyol playing right or left back even tho central back is his best position.

Thugz gave a better response then I could. Technically Dortmund should be able to afford bigger salaries but for all intensive purposes they run themselves like a mid sized club. They keep ticket prices low so they don't really get the benefit of the huge stadium. I remember they had a boycott over 22 euro tickets. I just reserved my USC v Notre Dame tickets and they're going to cost 100s of dollars.
You would think winning the league and getting into the CL a lot of those players are going to get increases regardless.
I think they should be looking for some veterans a la Schalke with Raul.
