Normally I wouldn't consider a women's basketball team beating a men's basketball teams record to be significant but when it's FUCLA I take much joy in it. AHHHH... Merry Christmas to me.
Just caught this on Sports Centre - this is quite an achievement, 89 games undefeated.
In the football context - that's two full seasons winning games. That's complete dominance.
except they dont play ANYONE good. their average winning margin in those games was around 30+ points. im mean, cmon now, thats not even competition.

Who else are they supposed to play?
Unfortunately, they don't play Tennessee anymore in the regular season, but their streak includes the national championships plus dozens of wins over top 25 teams. The Big East is full of ranked teams. They play Duke and Carolina, always in the top ten, every year and beat Baylor, then number 2 in the nation, a few games back. Florida State was ranked, if I'm not mistaken, and they beat them by 31. The problem's not that they beat up on creampuffs, it's that women's college basketball is where the men's game was during the UCLA streak- extremely top-heavy. There's a huge gap between UConn, about 10 other teams, and everyone else.
I'm not a women's hoops fan, (although I'm a huge fan of the men's game) but this streak is pretty extraordinary.
Prepare to be bombarded with propaganda!
