I'd still take him for 10 million quid.......there's a world class striker in there somewhere

You know that feeling you get when you buy something form an advert like 'get a 18 inch Penis in 10 minutes' or 'Lose weight without diet and exercise' or a shiny new fishing lure thatt is guaranteed to catch bass or when you spend £50 million on a 'striker' that scores 3 goals in 31 games:
Chelsea's Fernando Torres notches up 1,000 minutes without a goal - Story - 3 Sport - 3 News

£50million. £50 fookin million!
Football distorts the enormousness of figures.
Earning a bloody good salary of £50k a year you'd have to work for 1000 years, yes a millennium, to be able to afford that turnip.
Utter madness when you consider he's played like an turnip since he signed for them.
Oh well couldn't happen to a more deserving bunch of cnuts than Chelsea IMO

put Torres in front of Modders or De-Silva and you will have a different guy. Chelase have no idea how to use the guy, and no one who can delliver the pass he likes. Ad that To Harrys ability to restore confiedence and we would be quids in.
Chelsea will never sell him to us though so it doesnt matter.

There will only ever be one Hotspur
Mate while I don't totally disagree that our middield would give him better service I think he is a different player now.
He's lost a yard of pace compared to him at the Dippers and his confidence is in tatters.
Arry would fix him but he wouldn't be what he was. He needs to learn to change his game imo.
However when you think about big money strikers who have flunked you think of Caroll and Torres (both ruined by the Dippers).
I know who I'd want out if the two.

The two major transfers last January were two major mistakes.
Not the signings in themselves but the teams they went to.
Torres requires quick counter attacking and blistering pace around him which is why he was good at the beginning of his dipper time but got noticeably worse as time went on.
Then they spent the mo ey buying Carroll who requires width and more direct play. Something the dippers can not provide. Now they are trying but a little to late for his confidence.
If Torres had gone to City, Utd or even us I do t not think anyone would be slating him as a terrible striker.
If Carroll had gone to Arsenal, Utd or even Chelsea (& us) he would also be performing much better.
Neither player is suited to their teams.

in his corner, he has still got that world class touch, you can see it and on a level of dignity, he has most likely had the longest patch of patches in the history of patchism and i kinda feel for the lad. but hey, screw him, £50m only gets you 1/3 of a gareth bale!
Carroll has 6 goals in 35 games.
We win.
