Just finished watching this programme on ESPN. It appears in a number of episodes on youtube:
YouTube - ESPN 30 for 30 - EP 15 - June 17th, 1994 Part 1/6
Basically, as the title suggest, it's what happened in sports on 17 June 1994:
It was quite a moving film because at times OJ was suicidal. From a UK perspective (where only the car chase made the news) - it was an interesting insight on what American viewers saw that day.
- Ticket tape parade for the NY Rangers
- NY Knicks -v- Rockets (game 5)
- Kansas City -v- Seattle Mariners (the year baseball went on strike)
- 1994 World Cup USA
- Arnold Palmer last US Open appearence
- And...the car scene chase of OJ Simpson.
Yes very very good 30 for 30....BUT the tale of 2 escobars which was on this week was FOOKIN AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dont know if you get it the same week as the states but if you havent seen it yet you are in for a treat.
and obviously the 2 escobars is the drug lord and colombian footballer
We'll the OJ came out last week so I reckon you'll get the escobar one next week. Yes very tragic and a brilliant insight on how that country was in the 90s

only decent bit i could find on youtube but really moved me as a person, but what a backing the Colombians had coming up to the 94 world cup.

Both of these pieces (as well as the rest of the 30 for 30 series I've seen) were incredible.
Sickening how the people of LA were screaming for the cameras like THEY were the ones at a championship parade when one of their sporting heroes was making a long, slow ride to end his life. Mind boggling how he ever got acquitted of that crime. Forgot some of those details - maybe because I was only 8 at the time.
The contrast between the two Escobars was interesting, the twisted (yet chartiable?) mind of Pablo and the all around good guy in a bad situation Andres. Some amazing game footage...

Both are must-watches.
I agree both pieces of work were BRILLIANTL written and second the view that these episodes of 30 for 30 should be watched either on ESPN or youtube. But you're right, IF Wayne Rooney shot someone, the press would be hounding him if seen driving down the motorway...and people would try and be there...it's the FAME society we live in where people can get FAME for crap singing these days...
i was in the states for world cup at that time,it was amazing to see it all unfold live on tv
