There we are; first game of the season and already we have more points than we did after eight games last season. A fantastic start to the season I’m sure you’ll all agree. Before the game, I was optimistic about a win; Liverpool have lost Alonso to Real Madrid and watching Torres play for Spain the other night he did look a bit burnt out, it must have been all that sangria and paella over the holiday. Gerrard supposedly had a groin injury, which I don’t believe for second after watching him run about all game, (just goes to show that playing for England isn’t really on his list of priorities, it definitely comes after getting his boxing gloves on after his mates get mixed up in a brawl). Nevertheless, ...

After the superb display against Barcelona, with Rose and Livermore finding their feet there seemed to be a hopeful air of excitement about this season. And there should be. But as usual it was bittersweet, like eating a giant strawberry but seeing the underside is peppered with an Arsenal fans effluent. The news that Paddy Viera is looking, atleast for Harry, a viable option for our midfield is a horrific thought. The main problem is that Harry Redknapp is not a Tottenham man. The fans of Tottenham are mostly well versed in our deep history for all things flamboyant and this move causes a line to be drawn amongst fans, where one side are the knowledgable Tottenham followers and the on the other ...

With us in a bit of a battle to sign right back Kyle Naughton along with Kyle Walker, another defender, it looks as if we are paving the way for Chimbonda to pack his bags and head to Portsmouth. It also seems a worrying time at the moment, as I've mentioned before the possible selling of Tom Huddlestone, but also Spurs stalwart and much improved potential Ledley King replacement, Michael Dawson. The problem is that with our emphasis being on British tlalent over the last few years why are we selling and sidelining talent for more talent? Are we becoming a feeder club to the top four and worryingly, the 'developing' sides like Everton and Aston Villa? The latest is that Kyle Naughton is keeping ...

With the hype of old 'Arry still ringing in our ears from last season, this years obligatory summer transfer action seems a rather mellowed if not, non-existent affair. Pre Martin Jol we would have had the media telling us that we were after Rivaldo, a better version of Pele and Jesus Christ. When Martin Jol was at the helm we would wake up one morning and see in the papers 'Dimitar Berbatov signed' or 'Davids on his way'. Nowadays we don't even have that, it seems we have a smattering of news reports about a fresh youngster who has openly said 'Not interested' when confronted with the prospect of a possible move to White Hart Lane. But with the news that we are after Kyle Naughton, 20, England ...

We’ve got about six weeks until our first Premiership match against Liverpool at home on the 15th of August, and we still haven’t bought or sold anyone. I’ve been out and about for the last four days (yes I did go to Wimbledon, and yes I did wait 8 hours to get in), and I was hoping to see that Rednapp had signed someone, or at least shipped off some unwanted waste so we can free up some cash, but still nothing. Is anyone getting worried that we’re taking so long to make some signings? Or am I being a big girl’s blouse? There are still some doubts about Pav. The latest is that he’s going to be used as part of a deal to capture Roma striker, Mirko Vucinic, however there maybe some problems because ...

The pictures of the new kit appeared a little while ago now & many of us have not been taken in by the yellow streaks, especially all over our Home shirt. I stayed quiet as I tried to convince myself it was all a hoax and that nobody at Spurs would actually allow such a monstrosity. However, the design has now been made official & I am not alone in my horror. The thought that somebody could have actually designed it in the first place is bad enough but the fact that it was then given the all clear by everyone at the club just beggar's belief. Huge numbers of Spurs fans right across various forums & blogs have been posting their disgust at this design & many are saying they will ...

Over the weekend, Pav’s agent, Olev Artemov, supposedly made comments suggesting that Pav wasn’t happy at Spurs and wanted to move on. However, Olev believes Pav is keen to remain at The Lane. "I was astonished to read the outcry on the internet as a result of the alleged interview I gave to the Daily Mirror,” he said to the Sports Express. "In fact, it was loose translation of my comments to the newspaper Izvestia and the words were taken out of context.Roma and Stuttgart have made some early steps towards the signing, but there have been no specific offers or negotiations as yet," he added. "Besides, Roman wants to play in London and is looking to prove that he can be an ...

There’s been lots of talk over the last two weeks about players coming and going, but Rednapp has failed to sign anyone yet. We may have missed out with Santa Cruz to Man City, who have reportedly signed him for £18 million, but to be honest I think we can do a lot better. Rednapp might be a bit slow out of the traps, but I have faith that he will sign a couple of key players this summer. If you look at the changes he made in January, bringing back Keane, Defoe, and Chimbonda, and adding Palacios and Cudicini, then we know that he can pull the deals around and use his experience to benefit the mighty Spurs. We might have to be patient, but I’m sure we’ll start next season with a stronger squad ...

I know I shouldn’t start an article talking about Chelsea, but one of the managers who impressed me last season was Hiddink. He might have a podgy face with a double chin but his calm, collected and smooth character oozes professionalism and knowledge. If you look at how he turned Chelsea around (much like the great Rednapp), then you have to respect any comments he makes about his Russian International players; which brings me on to Roman Pavlyuchenko. When I first saw Pavvy linking up with Arshavin for Russia in Euro 2008, I was amazed with his speed, agility and clinical finishing, as I’m sure you were too. However, he just hasn’t found his feet playing for us. In the five years that he played ...

£80,000 a week is how much Arjen Robben would cost Mr Levy. Apparently, Rednapp has told Levy that he wants the ex-Chelsea player, but Levy, and rightly so, is concerned about his massive wage packet. His latest idea is that Real Madrid can help to pay his wages, that would nice of them, wouldn’t it? Maybe they can pay his dry cleaning bills too. Levy is in Madrid this week to finalise dealings regarding Juan de Ramos, so it’s a perfect time to speak to them about pinching some key players. Robben’s Dad, Hans, who is also his agent, isn’t keen about his son coming to Tottenham and thinks the idea is “absolutely nonsense.” He told the Independent: "We don't talk with Tottenham. At the moment ...
