After a massive curry and several beers the previous night, the early start was not exactly appreciated! The snow was still lying pretty thick around Boringstoke, but the trains were running fine so after the customary couple of pints in The Coach and Horses before the game, we were set.Actually, just remembered a comedy moment on the train from Liverpool Street to White Hart Lane. Group of four supporters sat just in front of me, talking about travel, one of 'em goes - get this, hilarious:
"For some reason, I don't like malaria"!!!
One of the blokes with him responds - quite rightly:
"Well, have you ever met anybody that does?!"
Well, I thought it was funny anyway! Right, back to the match report.....
The return of Robbie Keane, and the visit of an Arsenal team far from the imposing side that we've seen in previous seasons. I had a sneaky feeling about this one.
The team sheet made for good reading. Reasonably strong, although a bit of a question mark over Jenas and Palacios both playing along with Modric who had to shift out to the left to make way. Or did he? More on that in a bit.
The first five minutes was all Spurs. Totally. Then out of nowhere the Goons found a chance and slid the ball all the way across the six yard line. Lucky for us there was nobody there to apply any kind of touch.
