bought myself an external case, power going to drive but not getting any thing for a driver or anything

Went to try connecting it into my new computer and the bios detects nothing has been plugged in but swapping back to the cables to the western digital or to the ocz detected straight away.

It's strange cause it spins normally no click or anything so something must be shorted out/fried. Oh well.

The head is knackered m8...thats what the clicking was...best u can do with it is throw it away

I don't have clicking mate, no abnormal sounds, if I power it from an external in a quiet room, it spins as normal, can't tell anything is wrong with it.


Anyway is there's a process I should do to destroy it completely, if I open up the top that pretty much destroys the data right if the magnetic plate is open to the air?

I'll just ask at work if they can get rid of it for me.

Yeah the Stellar thing yep but the bios doesn't even detect the drive so the program wont ever see it.


Bought an external tried that, dont detect it, tried plugging straight into the computer sata ports and nothing either.
