if your shopping in the reasonable price market, i suggest an e-machine, the one im

currently using cost about £300, and i have had it 6 months and its brilliant, i have

had 2 main P.Cs that were both e-machines and only replaced as upgrades, nothing

went wrong with either,THE LATER ONE IS STILL GOING STRONG wouldnt worry to much about memory space, as you can

pick up mass storage external hard drives quite cheap as well

I have a MacBook, very satisfied. You get all your music, photo and video editing software with it, the Windows stuff (office... etc) is not hard to find (arrrr, matey!) and best of all, no viruses or spyware or adware, nothing in two years.
No need for drivers, everything sorts out itself.
Also, I've had Macs before, I'll see how this one does but the last one was chugging along well into it's 12th year when we had to put it down.
For me, the extra dough was worth it as I hated the whole PC software-hardware tightrope thingy.
Just make it work every time and I'm chuffed.

Unhappy with Windows after it broke my 3rd Laptop (had some poor luck with them). Fujitsu Siemens had no problems with, wouldn't recommend HP as it seemed to be poorly designed all round. On my second acer notebook/netbook now and have had no problems at all apart from the Windows problem mentioned with the first one. They're cheap, ~£200, do all the business just a bit slower. There's an obvious issue with GFX in that you can't really play games well on them, but that doesn't bother me atm.

I'm currently saving for a MAC and a new Laptop that I can put UNIX on.

From what I gather the MAC's are well worth the cost, you do get what you pay for and it seems it will come with everything you need.
