Back from watching both my teams play UNLV 66-55 USC....
The Rebels have a good squad, they look like they might be in the tournament again this season, but USC really aren't that good. I know we just had some pretty serious sanctions but we're still getting decent recruits. These early games have been tough to watch, the team has gone stale under O'Neil and he probably should have been canned after we were eliminated from the play in game. A few Trojans in the section I was in had some choice words for him. Looking at the schedule we could easily be 4-10 by the new year, depressing. Good for the Rebels though 6-0 and looking good, I plan to catch a few games this season as usual.
One more thing, the game was at the Orleans Arena not the Thomas and Mack where Rebel home games usually are. I've been to the Orleans arena a couple times but it always trips me out how it looks from the outside. It doesn't really look like an Arena, it looks like so many of the small to medium casinos out here, lol.

I was clicking back an fourth between the games, the game was on while I was watching USC v UNLV. I'm really liking Dave Rice no more mental substitutions like under Kruger, the team is looking much more solid. Kruger is a great coach but regular rotation is important so players can get into a groove. I think that contributed to why we got knocked out early in the tournament every year during his tenure, the bracket never did us any favorites either.

I'm not one to really get happy over other teams losing, especially this early in the season, but after all the shit they give us for not winning by say 10 points and how they are supposedly "number one" this is pretty sweet.
Only problem is my twitter feed will contain 90% college basketball, 2-3% people complaining about the Panthers, and the rest will be "stop tweeting about UNC!"
Deniz Kilicli is taking being a Mountaineer damn seriously.
I was pretty crushed when Mbakwe wen't down, but we've been coping. We beat USC and VT, but neither are all that strong this season. We'll see when the conference season starts, but I'm pretty sure the gophers will finish fourth or fifth in the b1g.

Yeah you guys are doing well. USC hasn't been good in a long time but this season we've been atrocious 9 losses in a row and 12 losses in our last 13 games. Hopefully USC has a long overdue revamp and get a good coach in there. We aren't good but USC is still getting decent recruits, we shouldn't be this bad.
My other team UNLV are doing well. Tough loss against SDSU and a head scratcher against Wichita State but I think we'll be in the tournament and go a bit further then in years past.
Michigan is impossible to figure out. We lose to Iowa, but beat MSU. Story of the B1G this season, I guess. Either way, we are sitting at the top of the conference with a huge game upcoming against Ohio State. Beilein might be the most underrated coach in the NCAA.

I'm obviously not very experienced in terms of rivalries but school today was ****ing insane. It's an incredible rivalry, and IMO the best one in college basketball. So much passion, and I doubt I'll be able to talk to anyone tomorrow without either "Duke sucks hahaha" or "Duke got lucky the refs cheated us"
So much passion, so much hate. I wore my Kansas crewneck today (always do on gameday) even though I'm a Duke fan just to relieve some tension. Common enemy and all that
Anyways though, I think UNC win it. They have the better talent and athletes IMO, Coach K just has something about him that makes a 4* recruit into an all-american. Plus it's at the Dean Dome, it'll be rocking and we have a young team. Will be interesting though.

last night was a really good night of college ball. The Syracuse game was great as well. I didn't catch any of the Kansas v Baylor game, but it doesn't look like that one lived up to the billing.
